Viz Media has announced that the company will launch six new manga series in June 2011 that will be offered for digital download within the VIZ MANGA APP. The app is available for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The VIZ MANGA APP is available for free through the iTunes Store, and all manga volumes are generally available for purchase and download in the U.S. and Canada from within the application for only $4.99 (U.S. / CAN) per volume. Smile: Pray for Japan Volumes 3 and 4 is also available now; these illustrations were drawn by Takehiko Inoue, and all of Viz Media’s proceeds from the Smile: Pray for Japan releases will be donated directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the victims of the March 11th earthquake and tsunami.
