Anime Expo has announced that anime voice actor Eric Vale will be a guest at their 2013 convention. Vale’s credits include Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Sanji in One Piece, and Yuki in Fruits Basket.

Viz Media’s Manga Announcements at Anime Expo

Viz Media made some manga announcements during their panel at Anime Expo.

The company will be releasing a premium box set of Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind manga on November 6, 2012. The set will include deluxe hardcovers and a full color fold-out poster.

Loveless Volume Nine will be released on September 11, 2012. In addition, the company will begin releasing 2-in-1 editions of the previous volumes in October 2012.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Volume 13 will be released on November 2, 2012, which will be simultaneous with the Japanese release.

The company also announced manga series that would be debuting with their first volume:

  • Jiujiu Volume 1 (July 3, 2012)
  • Strobe Edge Volume 1 (November 6, 2012)
  • Demon Love Spell Volume 1 (December 4, 2012)

The company also announced a digital manga app for Android; however, there is no fixed date for its release.

Bandai Entertainment’s Manga Announcements at Anime Expo

Bandai Entertainment announced two manga acquisitions at their Anime Expo Panel:

*Gundam 00I is a manga released in 2009-2010 as a side story to the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 television anime series, and it ran in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine.

*Lucky Star Boo Boo Kagaboo was originally created by Eretto as a self-published manga of the Lucky Star manga, but it was later officially published as an official spinoff in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Comp Ace magazine.
