Welcome to Lesley’s Musings… on Manga. I’m Lesley Aeschliman, and I have been serving as the Anime editor for BellaOnline.com since September 2007. During the time that I’ve been writing for BellaOnline, I started to read manga, since many of the anime series I review are based on manga series. As I began to read manga, my interest in it blossomed. This blog will feature manga news, manga commentary, and manga reviews. However, please be aware that the manga reviews included here will tend to be for older titles.

Many of the manga reviews posted at this blog can also be found at BlogCritics.org, where I am a contributor to the site’s “Sixty Second Manga” feature.

I’m also a regular visitor to the Anime News Network website, where I follow both the anime and manga news that the site reports on. I have posted at the site’s forum from time to time; my username at the Anime News Network forum is “ljaesch.”

My father was in the Navy when I was a child, and he was stationed in Japan from the time I was a year old until I was five; this was back in the late 1970s. I have some hazy memories of the time that I lived there, but one of the things that stuck out to me was liking Candy Candy. I would see Star Blazers on American television a few years later, followed by Voltron and Robotech. My interest in anime was rekindled after my children started watching shows like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! in the early 2000s.

In addition to writing about anime and manga, I also write about music at AeschTunes, another blog that I maintain. I also have some work published at Yahoo! Voices, and I am also part of the Vine Program, which is a program Amazon.com invites reviewers to participate in.
